Resets submenu

To gain access to this menu, touch CONFIGURE DEVICE, and then touch RESETS.

Note

Use this menu with caution. You can lose buffered page data or MFP configuration settings
when you select these items. Reset the MFP only under the following circumstances:

You want to restore the MFP default settings.

Communication between the MFP and computer has been interrupted, and you are not
able to resolve the problem by any other method. See

You are having problems with a port.

The items in the Resets submenu will clear all memory in the MFP, while pressing the

R

ESET

button clears only the current job.

SLEEP MODE

ON*

Turns sleep mode on or off.
Using sleep mode offers the
following advantages:

Minimizes the amount of
power that the MFP
consumes when it is idle

Reduces wear on
electronic components in
the MFP

The MFP automatically exits
sleep mode when you send a
print job, receive a fax, touch
any button on the control panel,
touch any part of the
touchscreen, open the scanner
lid, or load media into the ADF.

You can set how long the MFP
remains idle before it enters
sleep mode. See the SLEEP
DELAY
information in the

System setup submenu

LOCK CARRIAGE

No value to select

This item must be selected
before engaging the Scanner
Head Lock. It moves the
carriage into a position where it
can be locked.

CLEAR ADDRESS BOOK

No value to select

This item clears all addresses
from the address book.

RESET SUPPLIES

NEW MAINTENANCE KIT

NEW DOCUMENT FEEDER
KIT

Use this item to notify the MFP
that a new maintenance kit or
document feeder kit has been
installed.
